Dave Hall – Training Consultant

Dave is an NVQ Assessor.  He joined dhf in 2016 as a consultant to help deliver the dhf Industrial Door Safety Diploma training course.

Don Sowley – Approved Inspector

Don is part of the dhf technical team.  He helps manufacturing members of the dhf achieve audited factory production control as part of the dhf Quality Assured process.  His main role is auditing new members.

Ray Nowell - Technical Consultant, Industrial Doors & Shutters

Ray Nowell is a qualified engineer, having over many engineering experience of which over 40 years have been spent in the steel door and shutter industry working both for an internationally known manufacturer and installer and, since 1994, as an independent technical consultant.

Ray is the technical consultant to the dhf and provides technical assistance to all the groups of the Federation.  He also represents BSI in Europe as a UK door expert and also as convenor of task group TG5 which prepared BS EN 12635 – Installation and Use of Industrial Gates.

Tony Fitzpatrick - Technical Consultant, Doorsets

Tony is a chartered engineer and has been involved in the doorset industry for over 40 years. He was chairman of the dhf Metal Doorset Group for 15 years and was instrumental in the development of dhf technical publications.  On his retirement, he founded Doorset Consultancy Services and has helped develop several dhf publications on CE marking of doorsets, as well as serving on numerous dhf sub-committees.

Malcolm White - Technical Consultant, Locks

A lock industry stalwart for 40 years, Malcolm specialises in standards development. He chairs the dhf building hardware technical committee and represents the UK building hardware industry on the European standards committee for locks and latches (CEN/TC33/WG4/TG3). He is also chairman of the BSI mirror committee for locking devices (B/538/4/P3) and the dhf drafting committees developing technical specifications for products not yet covered by British/European standards.

Jo Spencer – PR Consultant

Jo has worked with the dhf since 2014.  Since then, Jo has assisted the Marketing Manager by taking full responsibility of the ‘Gate Safety Week’ website and twitter feed, as well as matters relating to consumer press.  As of March 2017, Jo is the sole PR consultant of dhf and will add trade press releases for all industries that dhf serve to her ever-increasing list of jobs!
