A big ‘THANK-YOU’ to our ‘Gate Safety Week’ supporters!

GSW 2017

Keep the messages of support coming!

In less than six-months-time, the culmination of our Gate Safety Week campaign will reach its exciting climax, with 9th – 15th October a week of intense activity and interest.  We have already received a significant number of messages of support from some of the industry’s most influential organisations, with the British Safety Council the latest heavyweight to add its name to our on-going safety campaign.  They join fellow supporters in the security, enforcement, inspection, education and safety sectors industry, such as the British Safety Industry Federation, (BSIF), the Federation of Private Residents’ Landlords (FPRA), the Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM).  We would like to say a big THANK-YOU to them all.  As a result of their support, Gate Safety Week gains more momentum each year.  Take a look at some of the inspiring messages that we have received so far:

“The British Safety Council vision is that no one should be injured or made ill at work. That is why we wholeheartedly support this year’s 2017 Gate Safety Week campaign.  We wish the dhf every success in raising public awareness of the dangers associated with poorly fitted and maintained powered gates.”
Louise Ward, Director of Policy and Standards – The British Safety Council

“The Federation of Private Residents Associations (FPRA) is delighted to once again add our support to the 2017 Gate Safety Week campaign and fully supports the dhf in their drive to raise public awareness of unsafe powered gates.”
Bob Smytherman, Chairman – FPRA

“The ‘British Safety Industry Federation’ (BSIF) is delighted to add its support to the 2017 gate Safety Week campaign and fully supports the dhf in their drive to raise public awareness of unsafe powered gates.”
Alan Murray, CEO – British Safety Industry Federation

“With the safety of our customer being of paramount importance to us and the wider need to raise public awareness of the dangers posed by incorrectly installed electric gates, here at Metal Gates Direct we are pleased to continue offering our full support for the 2017 dhf Gate Safety Week campaign and as a result will be promoting it wherever possible”.
Dan Joleys – Metal Gates Direct

Gate Safety Week – a dhf initiative:

It is now four years since we started the ‘Gate Safety Week’ campaign.  Surely, but steadily, we are making progress in educating the public and raising awareness of the dangers of poorly fitted and maintained automated gates and thankfully, we’re heading in the right direction.  Through its training programme, Technical Specifications, and collaborative working, dhf has seen a vast improvement in the quality of gate installations as well as the knowledge of installers in the UK.  In addition, dhf members must abide by the Code of Practice for the Design, Manufacture, Installation and Maintenance of Powered Gates and Traffic Barriers (DHF TS 011:2016) which provides a framework to ensure a gate is safe and therefore complies with the law.
The on-going support that we are receiving adds further credence to our Gate Safety Week campaign and supports our determination to ensure best practice and higher standards across the industry.  So, keep the messages coming!
