Domestic garage doors training

/media/training/library/garage_training.jpg

Please be aware that this course is only available to members of dhf.

Training courses take place throughout the year and, whilst the course could benefit some installation engineers, it is primarily suited to owners/managers/supervisors who are responsible for legal compliance within their domestic garage door companies.

The course lasts one day and provides delegates with a greater understanding of legislation affecting the supply, installation, maintenance, and repair of domestic garage doors.  At the end of the course, delegates will also have increased knowledge of the standards and documentation required for installation and CE marking.

It covers the following garage door installation activities:

  • Automating an existing manual door by adding a drive unit;
  • Installing a new manual door supplied from one manufacturer;
  • Installing a new powered door supplied from one manufacturer (i.e. door and drive from the same manufacturer);
  • Installing a new powered door where the door and drive came from different manufacturers.

Please note that more complex activities, such as modifying standard products during installation in ways not covered by the manufacturer’s instructions or obtaining components from multiple suppliers to create a new door, are not covered.  For these, please see the industrial door safety diploma course.
