DHF briefing paper on CE & UKCA marking after 31 December 2020 - part 1

DHF briefing paper on CE & UKCA marking

The first of our briefing papers dealing with the introduction of the new UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) mark is now available for download. It will be followed by further papers as follows, to be sent out over the next few days:

Part 2 – Moving goods from GB to the EU 27

Part 3 – Placing goods manufactured in the UK on the GB market

The Northern Ireland Protocol and the UKNI mark will be covered in:

Part 4 – Moving goods from GB to Northern Ireland

Part 5 – Goods manufactured in Northern Ireland

This document is based on the information released so far by the UK government; certain aspects may, however, change as a result of negotiations currently underway.  As an example, a possible outcome could be a mutual recognition agreement (MRA) which could permit certification from EU bodies to be recognised for UKCA marking purposes and certification from UK bodies to be recognised for CE marking purposes. We must emphasise that this has not happened yet and may very well never do so.

Please check your email inboxes for further updates and download Part 1 of the briefing paper here. Please note that this download is available to members only.
