AIJ Architectural Ironmongery Journal

AIJ is the official quarterly publication of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI).

ARGE

ARGE, is the European federation of associations of locks and builder’s hardware manufacturers, of which dhf is a member.

BRE / LPCB

BRE has, for over eighty years, carried out research into the safety, regulation, and performance of buildings on behalf of the UK government. BRE Certification, a sister company to BRE, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the BRE Trust which is a non-profit distributing organisation. The Loss Prevention Certification Board joined BRE Certification on 31 March 2000.

British Blind and Shutter Association

The British Blind & Shutter Association (BBSA), established in 1919, is the principal organisation representing the UK blind and shutter manufacturers and the companies that supply and serve them. The BBSA, with membership of over 500 companies, speaks for the industry and represents it in dealings with UK and EC government agencies and other national groups.

British Woodworking Federation

BWF represents joinery manufacturers, including timber door manufacturers.

BSI British Standards

British Standards is the National Standards Body of the UK, responsible for facilitating, drafting, publishing and marketing British Standards and other guidelines.

Build UK 

Build UK provides a strong collective voice for the contracting supply chain in construction.  Build UK was created as a result of a merger between the National Specialist Contractors' Council (NSCC) and UK Contractors Group (UKCG) in 2015.

Construction Products Association (CPA)

CPA represents manufacturers of all types of construction products. The site has a useful 'members only' section which can be accessed by members of supporting associations, including dhf.

Construction Skills Certification Scheme

CSCS has been in existence for over 10 years. It was started to help the construction industry get quality up, accidents down and cowboy builders out. Useful information about the CSCS card scheme for workers on construction sites can be obtained from the website.

Door Industry Journal

Door Industry Journal - The Voice of the UK Door and Gate Industry is an independently produced trade journal, published for the door, security, lock, ironmongery and automated gate industries.

Their printed and online content features industry news and product articles covering Industrial Doors and Shutters, Domestic Garage Doors, Entrance & Bifolding Doors, Fire Doors, Timber & Metal Doorsets, Automated Gates & Barriers, Fire & Security plus Locks & Building Hardware. Also included is relevant content on complementary products and services.

Three issues are produced each year in printed and digital form, publishing in Spring, Summer and Winter - April, August and December. If you are interested in advertising, contact the editor Derek Hibbart.

European Commission database of notified bodies

The European Commission maintains a database of notified bodies; these are test laboratories and certification bodies which have been "notified" to the Commission by national governments. Some products, including many construction products, can be CE marked only when testing or certification has been carried out by a suitable notified body. The database details the tasks which the body is able to perform, including the numbers of the harmonised standards. Each notified body has a unique four-digit identification number, which must be quoted on documentation such as Declarations of Performance.
