Important COVID-19 Pandemic Updates from DHF

COVID-19 Updates

If you are a dhf member, please visit the dhf Member News area for the latest updates regarding COVID-19 from dhf.

As you are no doubt aware, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected all of us across the UK, and dhf is no exception.

Face-To-Face Training Bookings Now Being Taken

dhf is proud to announce that training dates at the dhf Training Academy have been published to the end of 2020 for anyone interested in safety training for their staff, engineers and operatives.

dhf is unique in that it maintains its own Training Academy - a bespoke, separate building completely separate from the office staff where training delegates can attend courses in a freestanding facility. This allows dhf to maintain a high level of safety for all training delegates and dhf staff.

A multitude of safety considerations and processes have been undertaken to ready the Training Academy for classes. A full risk assessment has been undertaken and all dhf facilities have been certified COVID-19 Secure. The dhf Training Academy, which normally accommodates up to 25 people, has been restricted to just 6 delegates to maintain a two-metre distance. Hand sanitiser, face coverings and gloves are available for all attendees, and there is plenty of outdoor space to enable members to park safely and at a distance. The academy is also thoroughly deep cleaned following each day's course.

The two-day diploma course, normally spread over two consecutive days, is now split over the course of a week, so candidates will not need to stay overnight to complete any courses, and exams will be undertaken in the usual way.

dhf would like to remind anyone interested in courses that furloughed workers are allowed to attend training courses - this does not violate any provisions of the furlough programme.

Courses can be booked online right now at https://www.dhfonline.org.uk/training/book-a-course/142.htm

Online Training Available

At the start of the Government-mandated lockdown, DHF postponed all face-to-face training courses but moved quickly to provide online video training, which is available now for training delegates across the UK.

The one-day, Level 2 Award courses in Automated Gate & Traffic Barrier Safety and Industrial & Garage Door Safety, ideal for installers, have been filmed and edited to enable dhf to share knowledge with its learners. Once purchased, each candidate will be able to view the units at their leisure over a 14-day access period starting from the purchase date. There are five modules in each course and these can be viewed as many times as is necessary. Further classes will be available in the future. Online training can be booked here.

Online Web Conferencing Available

Face-to-face meetings are cancelled for the time being, however dhf members have been conducting online web conferencing for the past several weeks. dhf will continue to follow Government advice as to when face-to-face courses and meetings will continue.
