Make Sure Your Fire Doors Are Maintained So They Can Save Lives & Property

Incorrectly installed and maintained fire doors may not perform well in a fire and as a result property and lives may be lost.

With some contractors still falling short on their inspection, it is paramount that facilities and property managers are fully aware of their responsibilities when it comes to fire door maintenance. With this in mind dhf Training have collaborated with the BRE Academy to develop courses to minimise the risks of poorly maintained fire doors and to emphasise the wider roles of fire doors play in saving lives and protecting property.

With fire door related safety issues increasing over the last year, dhf working in conjunction with BRE have produced 4 comprehensive 1 day, 2 module training courses around fire door safety, inspection and on-going maintenance.

The brief aims of the courses are:

  • To provide a thorough understanding of the regulations and standards applying to fire doors
  • To explain the different types of fire doors and their installation, repair and maintenance
  • To show the importance of critical components such as door closers and hinges
  • To demonstrate how to set up hinged doors to comply with disabled access requirement
  • To give guidance on what to look for during a fire door inspection

The training courses concludes with a short examination.

Courses can be booked by going direct to the BRE academy website
