It is a condition of membership that all members who are involved in Automated Gates, Traffic Barriers, Industrial Doors & Shutters and Garage Doors employ at least one person that has completed the combined level 2 safety and level 4 legislation course in the relevant product sector.
Members must complete the Level 2 in Award Safety + Level 4 Award in Legislation combined course in the relevant product area at the dhf Training Academy in Shuttington. Please note that the Level 4 Award in Legislation course is not available separately; it must be taken after completing the Level 2 Award in Safety.
The person attending the 2-day course should have responsibility for legal compliance and be able to change or influence processes within their organisation, in accordance with the DHF COP TS 013:2021 parts 1 and 2. Ideally suited for those who must compile O&M manuals and instruction & technical files, and those who exercise general supervision over installation and maintenance operatives and engineers. The classroom course is conducted over 2 days from 9am to 5pm.
At the end of the combined level 2 safety and level 4 legislation course, the person attending will be asked to remain in the classroom for a short compliance assessment briefing (CCA - Complementary Compliance Advice). In that briefing, they will gain an understanding of the compliance assessment, how it will be managed, and what types of installation or maintenance projects can be used for it. The CCA is an extension of the training process and is not seen as necessarily pass/fail. More importantly, it is intended to identify any weaknesses in understanding or operational systems such that compliance can be achieved.
