Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) has announced that it will be sponsoring an award category at the 2023 Association of Fencing Industries’ (AFI) UK Fencing Awards. The awards highlight the important work the fencing industry does in the many diverse areas of the sector. There are nine award categories which are open to contractors, distributors, and manufacturers with installer networks, covering areas within the industry that range from, Agricultural and Equine, to Highways and Railways, to Gates and Barriers, which is the award sponsored by DHF.
Entries will open from 1st April on the AFI website with applications welcome from all fencing contractors across the UK, to enter their best installations from the past 12 months. The awards are open to the entire industry, not just AFI members. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 5th October.
Pete Clark, AFI’s CEO, said, “We listened to the feedback and have really boosted the 2023 awards, bringing in categories specific to sectors. We’re delighted with the continued industry support, welcoming back existing sponsors and new supporters who will give even more support to an event focussed on promoting the excellent work of the fencing industry.”
The AFI represents members across the UK fencing industry, promoting safety, quality, best practice, and professionalism, ensuring members are kept up to date with industry news, technical information, and business opportunities available within its network.
“We are so looking forward to working with the AFI to encourage the safe and compliant installation repair and maintenance of automated gates and barriers,” says DHF’s Head of Commercial Operations, Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens. “Fencing contractors are very often asked to turn manual gates into automated ones and, likewise, those working on highways may be required to install a traffic barrier. There is a close synergy between AFI and DHF and what better way to affirm the start of a promising relationship than to be part of the AFI’s annual awards!
“As a sponsor we will have a representative from DHF on the judging panel of the awards to select finalists and winners. And of course, we wish all the candidates the very best of luck with their applications and look forward to being part of this fantastic day.”
