This module provides an overview of Building Regulations that impact fire and smoke doors, ensuring compliance with legal safety requirements. It covers fire and smoke door test standards, including fire test evidence and assessment reports, to confirm doors meet safety standards.

Learners will understand the function of fire doors (FD), their key components and the role of intumescent protection. The module explores different door types, third-party certification schemes, and the importance of seals, including intumescent, acoustic, smoke, perimeter and glazing seals for fire and sound protection.
