DHF expands its gate-safety offering with a new one-day training course

DHF (Door & Hardware Federation) is launching a new one-day Automated Gate Safety Certificate Course which is aimed at automated gate and traffic barrier installation and maintenance operatives.   In addition, the course is relevant  to sales people who may wish to expand their knowledge.  The new course, which is available to both members and non-members, will launch on 3rd October 2018.   As well as learning how to use relevant parts of DHF TS 011:2018,  candidates will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the standards affecting the safety of new installations, maintenance and repair of automated gates and traffic barriers.

This new course complements the existing two-day Gate Safety Diploma course which is specifically aimed at employees who have overall responsibility for managing and influencing legal compliance within their company.  Since its launch in 2013, more than 1800 delegates have successfully completed this course.  The one-day training course, launched in response to industry demand, will help enhance the vital skills of those ‘on the front line’ with regard to maintenance and installation, as DHF’s Marketing Manager, Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens, explains:

“We are delighted to launch the new one-day Automated Gate Safety Certificate Course, which will target those who actually undertake the important tasks of installing, maintaining and repairing,” she says.  “It is imperative that the appropriate level of training is available for both management and operatives, all of whom have a legal responsibility with regard to gate safety.  As a federation, we remain committed to raising standards through our comprehensive training courses.  There is simply no place in our industry for illegal products and unsafe installations.”

The one-day training course will take place at DHF’s new head office near to  Tamworth which has a state of the art training academy and parking for more than 40 cars. It is located just four miles from junction 11 of the M42.

“Our new head office provides extensive space and first-class amenities, both of which will facilitate a positive, learning experience for our delegates,” adds Patricia.  “We have also negotiated corporate rates for accommodation at the nearby Appleby Park Hotel for those attending any of our training courses.  We expect a swift take-up of our new gate safety course.”
