Level 2 Award in Automated Gate & Traffic Barrier Safety - 1-day
(formerly known as the Automated Gate & Traffic Barrier Safety Certificate)
The 1-day Automated Gate & Traffic Barrier Safety course is now even better than ever. It has been redesigned in a way that is easier to digest and is now accredited to offer a formal qualification (for a small additional charge). This course is ideal for installers and maintenance engineers of automated gates and traffic barriers and provides assurance to customers and supervisors that successful training delegates are up to date on their safety training.
Each training delegate who passes is also able to refresh their training online within 3 years.
Available via classroom training, or through the dhf Distance Learning Programme.
This course complements the 2-day Level 4 Award course, but does not replace it.
dhf members please note: It is a requirement of your membership that those who attend the 1-day Automated Gate Safety Certificate are supervised by a dhf Automated Gate Safety Diploma holder.
This 1-day course is available with or without formal accreditation. See details about dhf course accreditation here.
Level 4 Award in Automated Gate & Traffic Barrier Safety - 2-day
(formerly known as the Automated Gate & Traffic Barrier Safety Diploma)
Available via classroom training, or through the dhf Distance Learning Programme.
This course will provide delegates with a greater understanding of legislation affecting the supply, installation, inspection, risk assessment, maintenance, and repair of automated gates.
The course takes place over two days and focuses on technical safety procedures, covering all aspects of gate safety from initial risk assessment through to force testing. It will ensure that installers and managers are fully conversant with all relevant safety regulations, can prepare a technical file and can issue a Declaration of Conformity.
This 2-day course incorporates the 1-day Level 2 course (above) and therefore delegates may want to take the opportunity to have the first day accredited. The dhf course is recognised as one of the most comprehensive training courses in the automated gate industry.
This 2-day course is available with or without formal accreditation. See details about dhf course accreditation here.
To make a booking for either the Level 2 or Level 4 courses, just click here to find available classroom dates at the dhf Training Academy or book a space in the dhf Distance Learning Programme. Upon receipt of payment, the course booker will receive an email with all the information necessary to pass onto the training delegate. Please review the Terms & Conditions and remind the training delegate they must bring formal photographic ID on each day of the course.
It is assumed that anyone attending either course will already have a working knowledge of the installation process. Neither course covers the actual installation of gates or traffic barriers. Furthermore, although electrical safety is covered during both courses, the training does not provide the detailed electrical knowledge associated with the installation of an automated gate or traffic barrier.
We recommend that those with barriers to learning such as dyslexia or difficulty in reading and writing to please inform dhf training staff before attending a course, and also to attend a classroom course at Tamworth where extra help can be provided.
All courses are run on a pass/fail basis and marked independently. No communication will be entered into with the trainer.
For queries related to training, please email the training department at training@dhfonline.org.uk
Terms and conditions apply to all dhf training.
